Taiko Wales was originally set up by James Barrow in Machynlleth in 2000 and during it’s brief period of activity it led 4 major funded projects. These included two long term beginners adult courses at Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan, both of which culminated in opening performances for the participants, one opening for Mugenkyo and the other for Joji Hirota and Pete Lockett. We also led a huge project with Aberystwyth Arts Centre which saw Taiko workshops in nearly every primary school across rural Ceredigion.
Taiko Wales is about to enjoy a relaunch this year in conjunction with members of Taiko Mynydd Du – watch this space!
